Day 24 to 30 Days to Healthy Living

Was woken up after only 5 hours of sleep with both my brother and his fiancé super happy at how much it had snowed. We all had our work cancelled so we got a snow day. I tried to go back to sleep for another hour but then we all had breakfast together. I put on a million layers of clothing and headed out the door with my brother and fiancé to go sledding in Castle Park. I got dragged along the path on the sled a little way on the compacted snow, was great fun. Took us around 20 minutes to get there and it was jam packed full of people.

There is a big hill where on a snow day everyone goes to sled down it. Right at the bottom is a castle wall that we decided would be our aim to reach. I think we continuously went down this hill for maybe 2 hours, maybe even longer until we were frozen. Lots of kiddies were getting wiped out and parents too. They don’t think to look around them or look up at who might go next when they are walking up returning to the top. Their friend joined us too and all 4 of us made it to the wall. We went for a herbal tea in a town cafe.Lots of places were shut for a snow day and many still open. I felt bad for anyone who worked today, the buses hadn’t been running and the trains were only going every 2 hours. We gave a homeless man a tea and chips from McDonalds and some money to get into a shelter tonight.

We headed home and bought fajita stuff for dinner. My boyfriend came round too and we had a very nice evening in. We didn’t go swimming like day 21 as the diving pool was closed due to lack of staff on the snow day. The roads were not as clear as yesterday and we had more snow. I had my morning shake but my lack of sleep made me super emotional tonight. Good night everyone.

Day 23 to 30 Days to Healthy Living

Snow today, lots and lots on the ground in the morning. I had got loads of food from the supermarket last night and so made a good healthy breakfast of eggs, avocado and a strawberry and blackberry protein shake. I also cut lots of raw veggies to snack on later with houmous. I had, red and yellow pepper, cucumber, carrot and celery. I did a bit of online work and my morning routine. Although there was snow today so very cold I kept my hair wet and dutch plaited it because I like to dry my hair as naturally as I can. I made another shake to have later at work.

I headed over to my family’s house because I needed to pick up some parcels. It was a mission to clear my car of the snow today. I was an idiot and all the snow I had put on to the ground from the windscreen and Bonet, my car struggled to run over it to pull away, too funny because I could have reversed and then pulled out just fine. The roads were again pretty clear and the snow began to melt, it was lovely and sunny. I had pistachios and a fizz tea before work.

Kept an eye out today on recreational gymnastics being a level 2 if Angie isn’t in it falls to me to be in charge and to make sure it is running properly. Not many gymnasts came in today although it was open, hope they are out enjoying the snow! When my intermediate girls came in they worked hard but being the age they are the group cohesion is a little messy, some days they get on great and sometimes emotions take over and I’m left with teenagers who need to be told exactly what to do and to be nice to each other. I do love coaching this age but sometimes it is tricky to remind them you are their coach at the end of the day not their friend. They have a competition coming up soon so need to work super hard to nail their routines. Because of the snow today I again parked right at the top it was so cold.

I went to pole fitness and my shorts arrived. I had to order a large, now I am an 8-10 but my bottom is so big that it eclipses the moon if I’m out at night. Haha, slight exaggeration maybe. They fit well I’m just not used to half my butt out when I’m doing pole fitness. However it did help, my moves were easier and more skin meant more grip, I’m less likely to fall off. I graded level 12 and passed which I wanted to last week on day 16, moving up to level 13. I have overtaken my instructor, she fell pregnant on level 12 six years ago and is only going to start up training again in September. So if I need any help on moves there are a couple of ladies there who are on the same level or higher to ask. My two friends I pole with had managed to catch me up when I went to America for four months to work as a gymnastics coach at a camp. My gymnastics background helps me to whizz through the levels and get moves quicker, catch me if you can girls.

Got home after using quite a bit of deicer on my car windscreen. According to my brother’s fiancé it is scheduled to snow overnight, I hope it doesn’t stop me from working in the morning, we shall see. I drank my shake and I am now sipping my herbal tea ready for bed. Good night everyone, thanks for reading.

Day 22 to 30 Days to Healthy Living

Today I really had to think about my healthy eating choices, my breakfast started off great with a strawberry vanilla protein shake and some eggs. Before work I went round my family’s house and had chicken with aubergine, peppers, sweetcorn, spinach and rice which were good healthy eating choices. I did get very tempted by my dad’s beverage choice…Coca Cola! I asked for a sip and had one dun dun dun! Naughty. My gods did it taste good, but I stayed strong after that and made sure I didn’t have any more sips didn’t want to stray away from the healthy foods. I made myself a fizz stick energy drink, at least that has a nice flavour to it.

It has been snowing all day and blimey it was cold last night. The snow hadn’t settled and I headed off for work. I made sure I parked at the top of the car park because I know my little fiat 500c would not be able to get up a snowy car park if it decided to settle. Throughout coaching I did get peckish but luckily I had packed up myself a raspberry vanilla protein shake as one of my healthy eating choices and a good one at that. It is a life saver especially because it only takes me a minute to drink and I can get straight back in to coach. I had lots of energy this morning and afternoon.

Gymnastics training was very quiet, us English don’t like to travel when there is a chance of snow, I even heard that the trains were scheduled to not run after 10pm, ridiculous! Our country cannot handle the slightest bit of snow and everything grinds to a halt. I’ve seen how Canada and many other countries just get on with it and it shows just how lazy us brits are. However I was very pleased that my little snow covered car had beautifully gritted roads to drive on. I popped to a supermarket with my friend and stocked up on vegetables and chicken, hardly anyone was there and usually there are more, I had a very unfriendly check-out lady which made my purchasing very uncomfortable, she didn’t even say hello! RUDE. Now time to settle into bed and grab myself a herbal tea, good night everyone. Just looked outside and it’s snowing heavily now.

Day 21 to 30 Days to Healthy Living

Woke up to the sound of my brother mucking around in the house and his fiancé singing in the shower. My brother was still drunk from yesterday and all giggly, was hilarious to watch. They told me about their Saturday night and it sounded like lots of fun compared to my lovely relaxing movie night. They headed off for breakfast out whilst I got ready for lunch with my boyfriend. I looked in the mirror and was pleased with the way I looked and how healthy my skin is, I even feel much better and a key way to feeling better is to love yourself, which I do, my motivational motto for today. He was early and also very hungover. He begged for a fizz stick & a hydration drink to help cure his hangover, he loves fizz sticks and swears by them. Unfortunately it doesn’t cure grumpiness, I wish!

We had lunch in town where we knew they served gluten free food. I started to stress because the food took too long coming out and I had work imminently. The food was lovely but I was rushed and felt bad that I couldn’t enjoy the meal to the fullest, I don’t think my boyfriend minded too much he clearly just wanted to be in bed all day.

Managed to get to work and coached. My party in the afternoon unfortunately was cancelled. Just one of those days I guess. When a party cancels I feel disappointed because I love to coach them, feeling down I remembered my motivational motto for today which is to love yourself. Now Sundays are days to hang out with the people you love for most people, I normally work but decided I hang out with someone and not just go home. So I asked my boyfriend if he wanted to hang out but when I asked he didn’t want to, clearly dying from a hangover so I went and visited family. Another point in the day where I just gently reminded myself to love yourself, we see each other around once or twice a week because my work schedule is mad, I love my job but my hours are one thing that do hinder everything, including diet and socialising. My family had chinese leftovers and I had some meat and veggies from the dishes I felt were healthiest. Managed to accidentally eat out all day woops. Watched a film with my family called Miss Sloane, it was complicated to follow but was really good, now enjoying a herbal tea before bed it is really cold tonight and weather forecast for this week looks cold and it looks like it is going to snow later on in the week, wish I was on holiday some where hot right now!

Day 20 to 30 Days to Healthy Living

Woke up very early for a Saturday and made myself a raspberry chocolate protein shake, it went really well with my breakfast of eggs and mushrooms, delicious, all part of my healthy balanced diet plan. I covered a group at work with gymnastics a lot younger than I teach at their skill level and was really fun. They were all well behaved although very clumsy, they kept falling off the beam walking into things and even kicking things by accident. Made me giggle a little and it was strange having to comfort a kid and tell them they are ok. My older girls just moan and then get on with it, I usually tell a great tale of how I split the beam or whatever happens to cheer them up. As an ex-gymnast/adult gymnast I understand I’ve experienced it.

After work it was so sunny, as I walked to my car in the car park I could see how dirty it was! I just had to get it cleaned. It took me a while to think of anywhere where I could sit in the car and get it washed, but remembered a local supermarket near me did one so I went there. The guys cleaning flirted with me and even thought I was Romanian, I said “No I’m English, but my name is Russian” total panic didn’t know what to say but at least I made them laugh. My car was super shiny felt much better! When I returned home I ate a fish dish as allowed in my balanced diet plan that my brother had made, it tasted good. I ate it reminiscing and playing on the Atari Jaguar console we recently saved from our old house’s loft. We played a game called Karts briefly and it even had our names remembered on the exact same controllers too, so cool.

I had a chocolate shake fudge bar I made on day 17 and another shake following my balanced diet plan to the letter. I spent my Saturday night in round my friends house watching a gymnastics movie called Stick it. It is my favourite movie and if you haven’t seen it and are interested in gymnastics watch it. We then mucked around the house doing handstands and elephant lifts (straddle press handstands) against the wall. I also entertained myself and their kitten with a green laser pointer. Had a nice relaxing bath before bed and drank a herbal tea. Good night everyone and hope you are working on a good balanced diet plan, if you would like any help on it just ask me 🙂
