Day 5 to 30 Days to Healthy Living

Day 5 to 30 Days to Healthy Living

Was really not looking forward to this morning, it was dentist day, I was up all night reading the healthy eating information sheets provided in the fb group you join for the 30 days to healthy living I looked at on day 1 to distract me. This meant I had planned out all my meals and what to prepare. I snoozed my alarm about 5 times and when I finally got up and reluctantly waddled downstairs, I prepped my food. I had a vanilla protein shake with fibre support for breakfast, cooked up some boiled eggs and cut up some raw veggies for snacks. I made myself a chicken with, red and yellow peppers and spinach stir fry, for lunch to take to work.

Yummy yummy get in my tummy! ?lunch from earlier today ??

My dentist was an ordeal, my appointment took a whole hour and I had millions of injections. I was happy that my old crown and one silver filling would be replaced with aestheticlly pleasing white ones, most british teeth are full of many silver fillings and it’s nice to think I’ll have a few less. I hadn’t taken the day off work and I didn’t quite realise I would be so anaesthesia-ed-up. I could barely talk properly and anything beginning with the word ‘B’ forget about it! My whole mouth and lips were numb and I’m pretty sure I scared all the kids I coached today *giggles*. Half my face wore off quicker than the other so I’m sure I looked real scary to the gymnasts and to be honest hilarious to my co-workers.

I had packed up fizz sticks and hydration sachets as recommended with the healthy eating information I read last night that I had on my break. Being really stupid I hadn’t thought about packing “soft” foods so didn’t even bother trying to eat my raw veggies, I mean I was clamping my lips shut with my fingers just to take a sip of my drink – carrots, celery … dream on. I decided I would eat my stir fry later when I could actually bite properly and I had a chocolate protein shake with digestion plus in. What I did notice is that although I was anxious and nervous for my dentist appointment knowing how much work I was having done, I didn’t have tummy problems. I normally get so anxious that it affects my tummy really bad and that didn’t happen which I put down to healthy eating and getting the right healthy eating information. My stir fry tasted and looked amazing. When I got home I did treat myself to pistachios and dried cranberries. Looking forward to focusing on the challenge and not having to worry about my teeth.

Day 4 to 30 Days to Healthy Living

Day 4 to 30 Days to Healthy Living

Baby spinach day! Woke up feeling pretty cold, I do not enjoy winter. I had a blocked nose and a clammy head. So I decided what I needed today was a strong dose of baby spinach to make me as strong as Popeye! What spinach does to Popeye is how I was fighting my junk food temptations today. I put baby spinach in my morning vanilla protein shake alongside a salad of baby spinach, tomatoes and boiled eggs. My hours are pretty weird on Thursday’s, so packed up a protein shake and a fizz stick to have around 3:30pm at work.

Got to love baby spinach and eggs ? great healthy snack

Again I didn’t feel tired and the fizz stick really helped me keep my energy levels up. After Coaching I went straight to an evening aerobics class and packed myself a nice hydration drink. I did feel pretty tired throughout the session which was unusual and my weight at the weigh in before class had stayed the same from last week which was unexpected. My tummy felt a little rumbly and unsettled so I took it really easy and tried not to jump up and down too much. Me and mum really fancied chilli con carne after aerobics so we bought brown rice, red kidney beans in chilli sauce and used up my leftover mince meat along with some more baby spinach. I helped myself to a handful of dried cranberries before heading off to gymnastics training as a little treat.

At training my energy levels were back up and I could do what I normally work. I’m currently sporting a very pretty rip on my hand so decided to stay clear of the bars today. When I got home I settled straight into bed with a nice warm herbal tea that I am currently enjoying whilst writing this. Can’t believe I’ve managed 4 days without chocolate or napping, quite impressed with myself!

30 Days to Healthy Living Day 3

Withdrawals. Gosh today has been an absolute struggle. I woke up with a headache and a very noisy tummy. My body is definitely missing sweets, chocolate , coffee and tea! I’m struggling just to focus on my phone and my Mac. I knew there would be hard days and temptations along the road and I know I can push past them. I got up and had a chocolate protein shake with fibre support and headed straight off to work. I had easily enough energy for work but was in a very lazy mood. And was super jealous when my co workers were enjoying coffees, teas and hot chocolates. Tea and coffee withdrawals are pretty hard!

Feeling chocolatey today ?✌?

After work I was feeling a little better and my snack of eggs and avocado (my fav) really hit the spot. I had herby chicken and salad for lunch and a vanilla protein shake with digestion aid for dinner. I snacked on a few dried cranberries as I treat as again the sweet withdrawals were crazy and I love cranberries a lot. I was a little irritable with my family and friends today but I apologised because I could tell it was just from the 30 day challenge and tomorrow I will feel so much better. My fizz sticks that contain caffeine helped again to not nap in the afternoon, this is incredible, I’m used to always napping and I’m gaining more hours in the day now! After relaxing with friends at the pub, only drinking water with a lemon slice in I began to feel much better. So as I’m writing this before bed, I am hoping that the withdrawals and their symptoms will fade quick and I can push on through feeling amazing from the inside out! After all you are what you eat.

30 Days to Healthy Living Day 2

30 Days to Healthy Living Day 2

Slept like a baby last night thanks to the herbal tea, didn’t wake up in the middle of the night needing a wee like normal so pretty impressed. Decided to spice up my breakfast with a vanilla, spinach and summer berries protein shake and snacked on eggs and avocado again. Looked really pretty and tasted good. My work hours are pretty odd so I ate my main meal around 2pm before I went off coaching. I had the sweet potato with mince beef and guacamole. It tasted amazing really liked that recipe, I will be eating that even when I am not on this challenge for sure!

Food prep this afternoon ???

Again I began to feel sleepy, I actually normally have a nap every day and after having a fizz stick did not need one – perhaps explaining why I am sleeping much better along with the herbal tea. Just before work I tried the chocolate protein shake with the digestion plus. Everyone I know who has these shakes much prefer the chocolate to vanilla so was expecting it to be amazing but in my opinion I prefer the vanilla, although both pretty scrummy. Didn’t feel hungry at work and kept hydrated with my hydration drink. It is pretty hard to eat small little and often when you are coaching. Once you are on the gymnastic floor you can’t go off and snack nor eat in the gymnasium.

I had plenty of energy to coach and go to my pole fitness I do every Tuesday, in fact I felt pretty energetic and trained well. I didn’t feel hungry all day but I did have a slight headache in the evening, don’t know yet what to put this down to – it can be as simple as the weather pressure. Felt peckish around 10pm so had a little snack on some almonds. Very much looking forward to my herbal tea again tonight and trying to master how long to brew tea.

30 Days to Healthy Living Day 1

30 Days to Healthy Living Day 1

Wow so day one already and it is time to shake shake my protein shake! I completely forgot to get my food sorted for the week and had not prepped as much as I should – especially seeing as there is a whole facebook group full of information, advice, shopping lists and health coaches. On the other hand I got up took my “before” photos, front and side view in a white bikini and wrote down my measurements. To be honest, I was quite happy with my photos and measurements which means I do not have to worry too much about weight loss on this 30 days to healthy living and beyond. I can focus on feeling better from the inside out.

I struggle with migraines quite often and tummy aches. I have found fasting using the 5-2 method before to really help reset my whole body however that caused me to have more migraines. So when I came across this I thought it was a no brainer. I started my breakfast off with a Vanilla protein shake with fibre and I love the taste of this so was super easy to drink. I had eggs and avocado as my meal and nuts as a snack treat. I really struggled to find much else around my house in stock so definitely needed to shop. After working all morning I felt a little tired around 3pm so had a citrus fizz stick. I honestly didn’t think it could curb my fatigue as much as it did. You don’t feel a massive burst of energy or a buzz but I realised I felt more awake and not sleepy anymore which is fantastic! My protein shake before gymnastics coaching had the digestion plus added to it and I really liked the thickness it gave my protein shake.

After coaching and doing gymnastics I shopped for the recommended food for this week. I ensured everything was organic and I didn’t stray from the list. I’m not going to lie healthy food is expensive, my weekly shop came to £27.15. I did buy everything and it does say on the list that these are just guidelines and to shop however your budget allows. But I wanted to do it right! I was shopping with my friend and she said “she had never seen a healthier trolley before in her life”, so if this doesn’t make you feel any better I don’t know what would. I then made myself a quick meal of chicken and peppers to make sure I was eating at least 1,200 calories as the guidelines say. As I’m writing this I am looking forward to my herbal tea before bed and can happily say I didn’t feel hungry at all, I had no headache and for the first time in a while I think I was properly hydrated thanks to the complete hydration food supplement drink, woohoo!

Can’t believe its day 1 of my 30 days to healthy living challenge! ☀️??
