Day 14 to 30 Days to Healthy Living

Day 14 to 30 Days to Healthy Living

Beautiful day to wake up to, sun was shining and you could feel the Sunday vibes. I love Sundays because I get to work parties at work. They are my second favourite part of coaching, the first is getting to see my gymnasts compete after months of hard work and progressions. I love making a kid’s birthday party awesome, the gymnastics club must be magical for kids, it is literally just a big playground! I used to have joint parties there with my brother when I was little and my friends used to love it, I obviously used to love showing off on all the apparatus. Before work I rushed over to grab some food from the shop but I forgot to eat any of it! After work I had a massive headache and I was trying to work out what was wrong. I realised then that I hadn’t eaten enough or drank enough. I do get carried away so much so I forget to eat, this doesn’t help when this sort of thing triggers migraines, that is where I should become better with my food preparation and planning as previously mentioned on day 6 when will I learn?

Arrived at my brothers in the late afternoon and they had planned to have an Indian takeaway. I was well up for that considering how hungry I had become. I googled ferociously what is gluten and dairy free from an Indian restaurant. In the end I chose dishes that were made with coconut milk and gluten free. The tandoori chicken was rather yummy. Now I know none of this is overly healthy but once a week you are allowed to eat out and I was too hungry to cook and it was too late to buy anything from the shops, although I did have my uneaten lunch in the fridge. Sitting there with a takeaway and watching tele really had the good Sunday vibes going and we sat chatting and watching too many episodes of Charmed.

A Sunday wouldn’t be a Sunday without a luxurious bath, to which I had treated myself to this morning. I am such a bath person, I cannot stand showers, I just get cold because it doesn’t cover all of me at any time no matter how I stand. That got me feeling fresh and relaxed all day, now how was your Sunday? Did you get those good Sunday vibes?

Love Sundays ??✌?

Day 13 to 30 Days to Healthy Living

Day 13 to 30 Days to Healthy Living

So to take my mind off of moving today I had a peppermint tea with a friend in the morning and a local cafe, it was lovely and a great chance to really catch up. I had cleared my room out and eaten scrambled eggs for breakfast along with a vanilla shake. My little red fiat 500c was packed full of all my stuff, she was bursting at the seems, poor Fiona. I was a little lost on what to do today, it has been the first Saturday in a long time that I hadn’t much to do. I forgot to have a fizz stick today after work and I ended up power napping around 3pm, gutted! I had gone 12 days without a nap. I had a whole evening of planning holidays ahead of me and was really excited. Before I went out I had ice cream that I bought, which is gluten, dairy free and vegan, it tasted of nuts was good.

Why hello there fake ice cream I like you! ??

My friend invited all of us who are going to Croatia this year over for dinner and for planning holidays. She cooked 2 soups, one ham & veg and one carrot and coriander. Both gluten free and I loved the carrot & coriander. She had made a beautiful roast dinner with lots of veg and plenty to go around! She made 3 desserts sticky toffee pudding which is my favourite so jealous I couldn’t eat it, gluten free cheesecake and vegan, gluten & dairy free chai seed with berries which I had, tasted good.

Now planning holidays is hard, we ended up talking and joking far more than actually planning the trip. At least we know we all get along well with each other so should be great fun! Very tired after such a long day, good night everyone.

Day 12 to 30 Days to Healthy Living

Day 12 to 30 Days to Healthy Living

So today I had to move out as I said yesterday and although I do this twice a year it still stresses me out. So today’s blog is all about how to cope with change. Now all human beings are instantly programmed to not like change. We thrive on routine and longevity and although some change can be really good and positive it is still daunting. I actually love staying with my brother and his fiancé, I do know that I am unwanted and annoying, I’ve never successfully managed to live well with any friends at University but that’s is not to say I didn’t try. I have my own way of living and other people have theirs and I respect everyones way of living. I do actually love staying with my brother, I get on really well with them both and it is nice to bond closer to them and also makes me a little more social than I normally am. I can understand they want their own space, it is there house and I’m uprooting it, they probably have their own way of how to cope with change when I come along. And I’m very thankful and appreciative that they take me in.

Quick and easy – one of my fav go to healthy meals, chicken and veg ??

The best way of how to cope with change for me is get busy. As soon as I woke up I went straight to the bathroom, morning routine and cooked breakfast of eggs with my protein shake and lunch, chicken with veg and packed it for work. It is important to keep busy with work and eat healthily, which is no problem for me on this 30 days to healthy living. I am always tempted to eat junk in these situations just to get that quick serotonin release, but I know better. I also like to seek support, now I asked my mum to help me move some of my stuff with me today and just that support helped me to cope better. I also like to vent a little to my best friend or boyfriend, just getting my feelings out helps and makes me realise that it really isn’t that bad. After work today and moving my stuff in I did my gymnastics training. I was so pleased tonight, I done 4 upstarts (kips) that I’ve only just recently mastered and I got down on both legs in splits which hasn’t been the case for many years! Now if you can upstart/kip try Beth Tweddle’s challenge here. Exercise does put me in a much better mood.

When your splits are on fire ???

After training me and a lot of people at gymnastics go and chat. We literally chat until almost midnight most Fridays. And one of the best ways of how to cope with change is having a break, chilling and talking to your friends, it really does help in the now and I love them to bits for being who they are. However tonight I was not a happy bunny, one of the adults who joined us managed to tick me off and push all my buttons, to the point I moved seats. Now if you know me at all, that is actually pretty hard to do. I read the room and realised quite a few people around me were also pretty bored or annoyed by this guy. It is a shame that I couldn’t find one positive thing to say about him, for most people I can, oh well. On the other hand moving seats was such a great idea I spent the next hour laughing and watching some hilarious youtube videos with my friends that I totally calmed down and enjoyed it. Hopefully I can say the same thing about moving to my brother’s, I sure do have fun and laugh when I hang out with them – I Love them and are so looking forward to their wedding this year!!!

Day 11 to 30 Days to Healthy Living

Day 11 to 30 Days to Healthy Living

When I woke up this morning I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror and thought wow is that really me? Talk about stomach management, I looked so much thinner than I thought I would. My weight has been steady, I get weighed every Thursday at my aerobics class, last week I lost a pound and the same this week. But everything looks more toned and I’m very happy with the results so far considering I haven’t been noticing any difference in my appearance. Straight away I got myself a shake and cooked lunch. I made chicken with courgette and onion stir fry, was delicious and very healthy.

Tasted much better than it looks ???

Only one of my gymnasts for home education turned up for class today, it is the half term holiday but none of our classes stop and I told them all last week it was still on. It really helped the boy who turned up because I could really focus on his badge and pay full attention to him. My 121 that I have after didn’t turn up and when I asked they replied thinking it was off as well. Used that time wisely to gather all my gymnast’s music to send to Fliss at the gym to put on file. My room is a mess, I move out on Friday night to stay with my brother and his fiancé for 7 weeks and then I’m back at home. It’s very stressful and I really have to plan out what to take, if you’ve been reading my blog you know I’m not a very good organiser. My parents commented on my stomach management, said I looked skinner even though that isn’t actually my aim it is just a nice side effect.

My gymnastic recreation class at work was busy for me, I had 8 out of my 9 gymnasts in so I played races, did fun vaults and played competition games on the bars. They left really smiley and I thanked them for coming in because it was half term. After work I went to aerobics to keep up my stomach management, it was really hot and I worked up a sweat and a half. I ate eggs and pistachios before quickly going to gymnastics training. I was too tired to do anything properly so went home early, quite unlike me. Feel super tired just writing this, think I stayed up too late last night writing day 10 and it is all catching up with me. Zzzzzzzz

Day 10 to 30 Days to Healthy Living

Day 10 to 30 Days to Healthy Living

I have been so looking forward to today, my first Valentine’s Day in a relationship. Now I spoil everyone when I can and when it comes to gift giving it is like my favourite pastime. I buy my best friend flowers every Valentine’s Day and this year was no different, she loved them. She was even off ill from work unknowing to me so that cheered her up. I made my dad a breakfast of eggs & avocado, he had toast with it and he had decided he needed to buy mum some more Valentine’s Day gifts because this year mum had bought him more than they had previously agreed. I received a beautiful bouquet of flowers in the post from my boyfriend as well as chocolates even though he had asked for no chocolates. Luckily I have great willpower, I can easily wait another 20 days to eat those even when they looked so yummy!

Feeling loved today ? Evening meal eaten and perfectly spoiled ?

Me, my friend and my mum went swimming in the evening. I headed home to watch the gift opening, I received another bouquet of flowers because he wanted lilies in and the company he ordered from got it wrong. He opened the two gifts I got and loved them, was very happy with myself. We went out for dinner and considering it was Valentine’s Day it wasn’t packed and thankfully for us our table was ready 20 mins early when we arrived. We both searched the menu and chose meals that were relatively healthy and avoiding gluten & dairy, he got jealous of my meal so ordered that as-well!! It was delicious but I definitely ate too much, I feel like a brick in water.

Good Night everyone and Happy Valentine’s Day

I had completely forgotten that I am on the 30 days to healthy living and the protein shake along with healthy food was second nature, much better compared to day 1. I didn’t think too much today and everything ran smoothly. I’m a very positive person so although I get easily excited with special occasions I have medium to low expectations on events, therefore when they go great I feel very happy and when they don’t quite go to plan I still feel happy. Win win situation. I sometimes get disappointed but that is life and today went great so woo! I wish you all a good night and if you are single on Valentine’s Day remember your bank balance loves you 😉
